The Role: This role is suited to an experienced offshore metocean professional who is comfortable leading mobilisation and servicing campaigns across a wide range of coastal and offshore environments. The role will involve offshore travel predominantly in the UK and Europe, but also further afield as we expand globally.
- Leading as party chief on project mobilisation and servicing of the range of metocean equipment including seabed moorings, wave buoys, our own floating LIDAR systems (V-LiDAR), in addition to fixed installations such as wave radars, tide gauges and met stations.
- Leading and coaching metocean engineers to deliver safe, technically robust and successful site operations.
- Experienced in the practical delivery of technical projects, including equipment knowledge, and experience of the deployment of metocean instrumentation in coastal and offshore locations.
- Experience of working from various platforms such as ports/quays/small workboats/multicats/anchor handling vessels/offshore installations etc.
- Leading the preparation of project documentation in line with legislation, industry best practice, client requirements and our own exemplary standards.
- Completion of accurate survey operation reports to a high standard.
- Producing and reviewing QHSE documentation.
- Contributing to the improvement of QHSE systems, survey operations and the technical capabilities of the metocean teams.
- Excelling in communication with clients and subcontractors.
- Systematic and methodical approach with a fine attention to detail.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines in an often fast-paced environment.
About You: To succeed in this role, you will combine strong offshore operational experience with effective leadership and communication skills. You will have practical experience delivering offshore metocean projects and be confident leading teams in challenging marine environments.
- Highly experienced in project mobilisation and servicing of oceanographic equipment.
- Experience in lifting operations onshore/offshore.
- Clear and confident communicator.
- An engaging leadership style with experience in coaching others.
- Educated to level 5 or above in science, engineering, electrical or mechanical disciplines / degree educated in an oceanographic related discipline.
- A working knowledge of data loggers, instrument interfaces with satellite / GSM telemetry systems and the range of oceanographic equipment.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).
- A high level of professionalism.
- Full UK driving licence (manual).
- A keenness to travel, predominantly in the UK and Europe, but also further afield.
- You will be flexible and adaptable due to the changing working patterns, allied to vessel and weather logistics.
