We’re now looking for a Metocean Engineer / Oceanographer to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants hands‑on offshore experience, exposure to advanced oceanographic technology, and the chance to develop within a specialist industry leader. The Role: As a Metocean Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of our metocean campaigns - from planning and mobilisation through to deployment, servicing and reporting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and testing oceanographic and metocean equipment.
- Supporting offshore mobilisation and vessel operations.
- Deploying and servicing equipment such as wave buoys, floating LiDAR systems, seabed instrumentation, tide gauges, wave radar systems.
- Assisting with mooring assembly and maintenance.
- Working in line with ISO‑accredited management systems and QHSE procedures.
- Working with telemetry, environmental sensors and real‑time monitoring systems.
- Processing and reviewing environmental and survey data.
- Producing technical reports and project documentation that meets legislative, regulatory, client and internal quality standards.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality offshore operations and fieldwork planning.

About You: We’re looking for a practical, motivated metocean engineer/oceanographer who enjoys working with specialist equipment and thrives in a dynamic, project‑driven marine environment. We are looking for someone with:
- Graduate, or Level 3 qualification or above in science, engineering, electrical or mechanical disciplines, or a degree in an oceanographic‑related subject or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience.
- Two years’ plus industry experience in a relevant technical or engineering role (preferred).
- Hands‑on experience delivering technical projects, including deployment of metocean instrumentation in coastal and offshore environments.
- Practical workboat experience.
- Fieldwork or marine survey experience.
- A systematic, methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, data loggers, and instrument interfaces with satellite/GSM telemetry systems.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience preparing risk assessments and method statements.
- Full manual UK driving licence (ability to travel to offshore mobilisation sites as required).
You’ll also need to be:
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willing to travel (primarily within the UK and Europe, with occasional further travel).
- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules driven by vessel availability and weather conditions.
- Positive, proactive and eager to learn.
