Senior Procurement Manager - Energy Infrastructure

South Wales (Hybrid) Are you an experienced procurement leader looking to play a key role in shaping the UK's energy infrastructure?

We're partnering with a leading organisation within the utilities and infrastructure sector that is investing heavily in the delivery of major transmission and distribution projects.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced

Senior Procurement Manager to strengthen their procurement function.

This is an opportunity to join a business delivering critical infrastructure programmes, where procurement is recognised as a strategic function and plays a vital role in project success.

The Opportunity

Working closely with commercial, engineering and operational teams, you\'ll lead strategic procurement activity across a portfolio of high-value energy infrastructure projects.

You\'ll be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing key supplier relationships and ensuring the business has the right supply chain in place to deliver complex engineering programmes safely, efficiently and commercially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies across major energy infrastructure projects.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities from market engagement through to contract award.
  • Manage procurement activities relating to civil engineering and/or electrical engineering packages.
  • Build long-term relationships with strategic suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements that deliver value while mitigating commercial risk.
  • Partner with project, commercial and operational stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Drive supplier performance, continuous improvement and supply chain resilience.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal governance, contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, supplier capability and procurement processes.

About You

  • We\'re looking to speak with procurement professionals who can demonstrate:
  • Previous experience operating as a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement Manager within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong knowledge of
  • Transmission Network Operators (TNO) and/or

Distribution Network Operators (DNO) .

  • Experience procuring within either civil engineering or electrical engineering environments.
  • A track record of delivering procurement strategies across complex, high-value engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable

  • Experience working within regulated utilities or major infrastructure organisations.
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts or engineering frameworks.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards).
