Interim Senior Project Manager (Capital & Asset Investment)
Based in London, hybrid working
Length: 3 months
We are working with a London Local Authority who are looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to be a part of their Capital & Asset Investment Team.
They will lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of planned investment, capital works, compliance-related improvement and regeneration projects across residential and corporate assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for managing a team of up to five project professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of programmes from inception through to completion
- Provide strategic leadership, project governance, budget control and stakeholder management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
- Manage projects covering planned maintenance, major works, decarbonisation, building safety, compliance and regeneration initiatives
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved budgets, programmes and business plans
- Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers and governance reports
- Monitor project performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where necessary
- Oversee project handovers, post-project reviews and lessons learned processes
- Set objectives, conduct performance reviews and support professional development
- Allocate resources across projects to maximise efficiency and delivery outcomes
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, Building Regulations, CDM requirements and organisational policies
Key Requirements:
- Significant experience delivering capital investment, major works, planned maintenance or asset improvement programmes
- Proven track record managing projects from inception through to completion
- Experience managing large capital budgets and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Strong contract management and procurement experience
- Experience leading and developing project teams
- Knowledge of asset management principles within housing, local authority or property environments
