Interim Corporate Performance Manager

Based in London, hybrid working

Length: 3 months initially

We're looking for an exceptional Corporate Performance Manager to lead one of the Council's most important strategic programmes. Following the local elections in 2026, they're developing a new Council Plan that will set the direction for the organisation over the coming years. As Corporate Performance Manager, you will lead the design, development and implementation of the Council's new corporate Performance and Insight Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a major cross-organisational programme involving senior leaders from across the Council
  • Provide strategic advice and performance challenge to Cabinet Members, Executive Directors and Directorate Management Teams
  • Work collaboratively with Digital teams to develop modern, efficient reporting and insight solutions
  • Design and implement robust performance reporting, governance and quality assurance processes
  • Lead programme boards, steering groups and working groups to ensure successful delivery
  • Manage programme budgets, procurement activity and external contracts
  • Identify and manage programme risks, dependencies and opportunities

Key Requirements

  • Extensive experience of strategic performance management, programme management or organisational improvement
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into meaningful insight
  • Experience of leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct line management responsibility
  • Experience of managing significant budgets, contracts and governance arrangements
