Commissioner - Mental Health

We are working with a London Local Authority who are looking to appoint an specialist Mental Health Commissioner to support their ASC Commissioning Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the development of a 5 year mental health commissioning strategy and delivery plan, to strengthen the mental health pathway including supported accommodation
- Analyse current and future needs, market capacity and spend
- Take forwards engagement and co production with providers, service users and unpaid carers
- Propose clear recommendations and next steps for commissioning and procurement
- Work together with South West London commissioning leads on any joint commissioning opportunities
- Ensure Mental Health commissioning is embedded into the day opportunities and supported accommodation contracts
- Understand, interpret and commission services in line with the new Mental Health Act 2025
Essential experience
- Proven experience in adult social care commissioning is essential, working on programmes / projects for mental health commissioning
- Experience in mental health accommodation and pathways
- Use of project management principles, tools and techniques
- Data analysis and triangulation from a variety of sources
- Ability to produce clear, high quality reports and presentations to a range of audiences
