Change Lead – Street Management Location: 3-4 days on-site Contract Duration: 3-6 months (with potential extensions up to 18 months) Daily Rate: £600p/d umbrella (Inside IR35) Our client is looking for an experienced individual to lead their service delivery across key areas such as waste management, street cleansing, and grounds maintenance. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide visible leadership and drive change and transformation in a high-pressure, dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic, hands-on leadership, ensuring top-tier service delivery in property, waste management, street management, and grounds maintenance Drive change management initiatives to foster continuous improvement and operational efficiency, while ensuring the council meets its strategic goals Collaborate with key stakeholders, including neighbourhood teams and political leaders, to meet community needs and deliver high-impact results Oversee the planning and execution of front-line services, ensuring they operate effectively within a fast-paced, high-pressure urban setting Manage and optimise resources to deliver excellent service in alignment with the council’s objectives and community expectations Key Requirements: Significant experience leading large-scale operations in a big city environment, particularly within local government or urban councils Strong background in waste management, street cleansing, and grounds maintenance, with a proven track record of driving service improvement in these areas Expertise in change management, with the ability to implement practical solutions to challenges and deliver effective outcomes across multiple services High level of political awareness and experience working in a politically sensitive environment Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with the tenacity and resilience required to meet demanding goals Experience with Budgeting, Change Management, Project Management, Service Delivery, Leadership and Environmental Management Systems Additional Attributes: Familiarity with the complexities of delivering front-line services to large urban populations Proven experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and political entities Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery This role is perfect for a results-oriented professional who can lead a high-performing team, manage complex projects, and make a tangible difference in the lives of residents.
