Venn Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading community-focused organisation in the recruitment of a Temporary Property & Finance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a diverse and purpose-driven organisation that manages a substantial mixed-use estate, supporting a wide range of tenants, community groups and local stakeholders. Working closely with the Finance and Property teams, you will support the management of property-related income and financial transactions, ensuring accurate financial records and excellent service delivery to tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain tenancy and charging information within the property management system
- Raise and issue rent demands, ensuring accurate posting of transactions to financial ledgers
- Manage credit control activities, following up on outstanding debts via phone, email and written correspondence
- Maintain and reconcile tenant debtor accounts and rental ledgers
- Process expenditure postings to service charge accounts and support monthly reconciliations
- Prepare and post tenancy-related journals, including rent adjustments and recharges
- Review void properties and tenant recharges, ensuring accurate accounting records
- Assist with month-end reporting and financial administration activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and Property teams
- Support the delivery of accurate financial procedures, controls and reporting
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience within a rental accounting, property finance or income accounting environment
- Experience using computerised accounting systems
- Strong Excel skills and confidence manipulating financial data and reports
- Excellent attention to detail with strong data entry and reconciliation skills
- Strong organisational, analytical and administrative abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to follow financial procedures and controls accurately
- Proactive, resourceful and flexible approach to work
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- AAT/CAT studies or qualification would be advantageous
- Experience of property management systems, rental ledgers and credit control would be highly desirable
Contract: 3 month contract with chance to extend
Location: West London
Working Pattern: Office-based, 3 days per week
Hours: 21 hours per week (Monday to Wednesday)
