Role 2
Senior Category Buyer (Corporate Services) – Permanent
Both roles have the same responsibilities but specialising in different categories. The roles are hybrid working with a requirement of 3 days on site per week.
Job Description:
Key responsibilities:
- Provide excellent procurement and contracting services, managing the routing operation and administration of the procurement service whilst identifying opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements.
- Lead on procurement activities including planning and tender selection strategies.
- Facilitate a competitive market for the organisations and our customer’s requirements.
- Stakeholder management, including regular meetings to improve communication and coordination of procurement activities and defining and specifying stakeholder’s business needs.
- Work in accordance with EU directives, national legislation, local regulations and organisation policies to include its Standard Financial Instructions.
- Provide contract information to the Data Team to support and maintain an electronic catalogue of products and pricing information.
- Monitor suppliers regularly against KPIs with specific contracts, ensuring continual best value for money is achieved.
- Contribute to ensuring sustainability is considered with regards to procurement activity and work towards the organisations environmental impact.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will be education to a Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (for example, Business Studies of Management). They will also have:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work independently and manage their workload accordingly
- Experience or knowledge of procurement, supply and contracting purposes.
- Strong IT skills.
