An experienced Interim Occupational Therapy Service Design & Delivery Manager is required to lead the design, mobilisation and scaling of an in-house Occupational Therapy service within Adult Social Care. This high-impact role will work alongside senior operational leaders to establish a safe, effective and prevention-focused OT service, supporting improved outcomes for residents across Gloucestershire.
The Role
- Designing a consistent, end-to-end Occupational Therapy model spanning all access points, including front door, assessment teams, equipment services, DFGs and community OT.
- Mapping current pathways, identifying gaps, duplication and delays, and redesigning pathways to support prevention, early intervention and improved flow.
- Working closely with the Principal OT and Heads of Service to align the model with best practice and statutory responsibilities.
- Defining roles, responsibilities, decision-making points and prioritisation frameworks across the OT service.
- Supporting the mobilisation and in-sourcing of a community Occupational Therapy team, including workforce modelling, role profiles and establishment design.
- Designing governance, supervision, clinical oversight and operational processes to support safe service delivery.
- Producing and delivering a clear mobilisation plan, including milestones, risks, workforce transition and dependency management.
- Working with partners to deliver waiting list recovery and service stabilisation activity.
- Delivering clear programme outputs including benefits realisation plans, reporting frameworks and end-of-assignment recommendations.
Requirements
- Registered Occupational Therapist with strong knowledge of Adult Social Care and the Care Act.
- Significant experience designing, mobilising or transforming Occupational Therapy or Adult Social Care services.
- Strong programme and change management capability, with experience translating strategy into operational delivery.
- Experience developing workforce models, governance arrangements and service operating models.
- Ability to work at pace with senior leaders, operational teams and system partners.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
