Our client, a leading global digital platform is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support its Regulatory Compliance Function during a period of significant regulatory development and operational transformation. This role involves advising on highâimpact EU digital regulation, including the Digital Services Act (DSA) and Digital Markets Act (DMA), and helping to shape how these frameworks are implemented across international markets.
This position is to start as soon as possible, can be performed fully remotely, and is offered on an initial threeâmonth contract with strong potential for extension, along with a competitive hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities- Lead legal interpretation of the DSA and DMA as it relates to the organisation's compliance framework
- Provide strategic input into the DSA systemic risk management cycle
- Draft internal policies, procedures and seniorâlevel reporting
- Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and requests
- Analyse products, features and initiatives to deliver practical, actionable legal advice across jurisdictions
- Support compliance with DSA, DMA and related international laws
- Contribute to longâterm regulatory strategy and stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with Public Affairs and Policy teams on developments within the EU regulatory landscape
- Support group companies in meeting their DSA/DMA obligations
- Help strengthen and develop a highâperforming regulatory compliance function
- Professional experience working with the DSA and/or DMA
- 5â8 years practising law, ideally with a combination of inâhouse and lawâfirm experience
- Qualified to practise law in at least one EU member state
- Strong grounding in data privacy, consumer protection, platform liability and competition law
- Ability to advise on product design, identify regulatory risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Comfortable operating in areas of legal ambiguity and evolving regulation
- Strong drafting, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively across legal and nonâlegal teams
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholderâmanagement skills
- Comfortable navigating complex and nuanced issues in a fastâmoving environment
