Finance Management Systems Accountant (Oracle)

Location: West London – 2 days on site

Contract Type: 3 months

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Team Leader – Oracle Cloud Support to maintain and develop the Council’s financial systems, including Oracle Cloud. You’ll ensure these systems reflect the Council’s structure, support accurate financial reporting, and provide guidance to Finance Business Partners across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide system support for budget monitoring and development and financial systems maintenance, including user setup and resolving queries via the call logging portal
• Undertake a review exercise to ensure that the users are correctly set up, with reporting lines and levels of access and authority reflecting the Councils requirements, schemes of delegation and segregation of duties
• Manage month-end close activities, including General Ledger closure and rollover tasks, ensuring precise adherence to the Finance Timetable and deadlines
• Assist with reviewing and updating master data, hierarchies, and user roles to keep systems accurate and up to date
• Perform monthly reconciliations and reporting, alongside rollover administration tasks, to maintain accuracy in budgeting and financial monitoring

About You

• Strong, demonstratable understanding of Oracle
• Previous experience working within a similar role in a local authority
• Experience in system administration, user access management, and data integrity
• Passed first year of a full professional CCAB accounting qualification
• Knowledge of financial reporting requirements and statutory compliance
