The predicted salary is between 40500 - 49500 Β£ per year.
You will develop and deliver effective engagement strategies that strengthen relationships between the Council, residents, community groups, voluntary organisations, and key stakeholders.
The postholder will ensure that local voices are heard and reflected in service design, policy development, and decision-making, supporting the re-fresh of the Council's Corporate Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement community engagement and consultation strategies aligned with the Council's priorities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, community representatives, faith groups, voluntary sector organisations, and local partners
- Lead engagement activities, including public consultations, workshops, focus groups, community forums, and digital engagement campaigns
- Ensure engagement approaches are inclusive and accessible, reaching underrepresented and seldom-heard communities
- Analyse feedback and community insight to inform policy development, service improvements, and strategic decision-making
- Provide advice and support to departments on best practice in engagement and consultation
- Monitor and evaluate engagement activity, producing reports and recommendations for senior leaders and elected members
- Support the development of community capacity building initiatives that empower residents to participate in local decision-making
- Ensure all engagement activities comply with relevant legislation, equalities duties, and consultation best practice
Essential Experience
- Experience of leading community engagement, consultation, or stakeholder management activities within local government, public sector, or a related environment
- Strong understanding of London's diverse communities and the challenges facing local residents
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience designing and delivering engagement programmes across a range of channels
- Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative feedback and present findings clearly
