Venn Group is working with a leading independent school to recruit a Site Manager to ensure the smooth running, safety, and compliance of multiple school sites. The Site Manager plays a key operational role in maintaining buildings and grounds, managing a small team, and coordinating contractors. This is a hands-on position requiring strong leadership and practical maintenance skills.
Location and Pay
- Location: Wandsworth, London
- Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per year
- Hours: 47.5 hours per week (term time), 40 hours per week (school closure periods)
- Leave: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct site supervisors and contractors
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance and emergency repairs
- Undertake plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks where feasible
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (fire safety, asbestos, legionella, COSHH)
- Conduct regular inspections and update risk assessments
- Manage budgets and procurement for planned works
- Maintain site security and support school events
Essential Requirements
- Experience in maintenance/facilities (carpentry, plumbing, painting)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
- IT literacy and good communication skills
- Experience in a school environment
Desirable
- IOSH/NEBOSH qualification
