Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Property Legal Officer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a property professional with strong Local Authority experience to manage a varied caseload, with a particular focus on Right to Buy and property transaction work.

Role Details:

  • Position: Locum Property Legal Officer
  • Working Arrangement: Full Time
  • Duration: Initial interim contract, with potential for extension
  • Rate: £30 - £35 per hour Umbrella

Duties may include:

  • Managing a high-volume property caseload with a strong emphasis on Right to Buy matters
  • Drafting agreements, deeds of surrender and other property documentation
  • Managing transactions from initial instruction through to completion
  • Conducting title investigations and preparing title reports
  • Dealing with property enquiries and resolving transactional issues
  • Completing SDLT submissions
  • Preparing and submitting HM Land Registry applications
  • Ensuring matters are progressed in line with relevant legislation and internal procedures
  • Supporting the wider property team with additional transactional work where required

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous Local Authority property experience
  • Strong knowledge of Right to Buy transactions and associated processes
  • Experience drafting property agreements and deeds
  • Confident managing files from instruction through to completion
  • Experience conducting title investigations and dealing with enquiries
  • Knowledge of SDLT and HM Land Registry processes
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
  • Strong drafting, organisation and communication skills
  • Transferable experience across other areas of property would be advantageous
