Venn Group's specialist public sector legal team is assisting a South West Local Authority in appointing a Property Lawyer on a locum basis. This is a full-time position for an initial duration of 8 months. Monthly attendance at meetings is desirable; however, the client may also consider candidates for a fully remote working basis. It would suit a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx) with strong Local Authority experience.
The successful candidate will oversee and manage the residential acquisition programme on behalf of the Council with limited supervision. Experience and comfort with the full conveyancing process are essential.
Responsibilities may include:
- Managing and advising on development, sale, lease, and other transactions involving public sector land holdings
- Providing expert advice on all aspects of local authority land transactions
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards
- Offering strategic and practical advice to clients on property matters
- Developing effective solutions to complex property issues to meet client needs efficiently
An hourly umbrella rate of £55-60 is offered for this role.
