We are seeking a Housing Asset Health & Safety Officer to support a large public sector organisation's Housing Asset Management Team. This role ensures BTS operations remain compliant, safe, and aligned with key legislation, providing expert support across the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise managers, staff, and contractors on statutory health & safety obligations and best practice
- Develop, review, and monitor health & safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments
- Track new legislation (e.g. asbestos, legionella, fire safety) and brief senior management
- Act as Principal Designer under CDM 2015 where required
- Deliver health & safety training and support CPD activity
- Carry out inspections, audits, accident investigations, and produce clear reports
- Support Business Continuity planning and attend meetings as needed, including out-of-hours
- Maintain strong working relationships across BTS, contractors, and stakeholders
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience providing health & safety advice in a similar environment
- Strong knowledge of H&S legislation including HSWA 1974, CDM 2015
