We are seeking a Housing Asset Health & Safety Officer to support a large public sector organisation's Housing Asset Management Team. This role ensures BTS operations remain compliant, safe, and aligned with key legislation, providing expert support across the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise managers, staff, and contractors on statutory health & safety obligations and best practice
  • Develop, review, and monitor health & safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments
  • Track new legislation (e.g. asbestos, legionella, fire safety) and brief senior management
  • Act as Principal Designer under CDM 2015 where required
  • Deliver health & safety training and support CPD activity
  • Carry out inspections, audits, accident investigations, and produce clear reports
  • Support Business Continuity planning and attend meetings as needed, including out-of-hours
  • Maintain strong working relationships across BTS, contractors, and stakeholders

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing health & safety advice in a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation including HSWA 1974, CDM 2015
