Based in Kent (hybrid working – 2 days onsite per week) Permanent. We are seeking an excellent Employment and Skills Manager to develop and deliver employment and skills support within a Housing Association. The Employment and Skills Manager will identify unmet needs and develop innovative ways in which we can meet those needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the Employment & Skills service, ensuring clear work plans, targets and service standards are met.
- Develop the Training & Employment plan with the Head of Communities, defining unmet needs, desired outcomes and KPIs to measure programme success.
- Design, implement and review employability programmes that support residents into work, training or volunteering, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, funders and stakeholders to promote the value of Employment & Skills and influence future service design.
- Secure external funding, maximise Social Value, and collaborate with partners to extend services, ensure value for money and avoid duplication.
- Embed Employment & Skills across the wider Communities team, prepare reports for senior leadership, and complete any reasonable tasks required by the Head of Communities.
Skills and abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proven leadership experience, including developing diverse teams, creating positive working environments, and enabling staff to meet targets.
- Experience delivering or managing employability programmes, including designing work plans, developing KPIs.
- Skilled in budget management, organisation, prioritisation and working effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Publisher.
- Flexible, adaptable and professional approach, working with integrity and a positive attitude when engaging with partners, funders and commissioners.
