The Role
We are seeking an Electrical Manager to join an Estates and Facilities Management team, ensuring premises are safe and compliant for patients, staff, and visitors. You will lead on operational management of engineering infrastructure and maintenance teams, supporting the Deputy Head of Estates and driving forward the FM Transformation Programme.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing Hard FM services across Trust sites.
- Managing electrical systems (LV/HV), water safety, ventilation, medical gases, lifts, pressure systems, and asbestos.
- Leading compliance with statutory requirements, HTM/HBN guidance, and best practice.
- Driving sustainability, energy efficiency, and backlog maintenance reduction.
- Providing expert advice on complex estates matters and supporting strategic planning.
- Full line management responsibility for estates teams.
About You
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Extensive experience in estates operations within healthcare.
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Professional engineering qualification (e.g., IET, CIBSE, IHEEM).
- Strong knowledge of HTMs, HBNs, Health & Safety legislation, and CDM regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.
Desirable:
- Membership of a Chartered professional body.
- Completion of Authorised Person courses.
