Locum Prosecutions Lawyer – Midlands – 3-6 months + – Hybrid (Predominantly Remote) – Up to £60-65 per hour Umbrella
Venn group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Principle Prosecutions Lawyer to join a reputable local authority in the Midlands.
This is a Locum position, on a rolling contract basis with an initial term of 3-6 months. Full time OR part time candidates will be considered (minimum 3 days per week), predominantly remote working, with once-a-week court attendance. Initial IT collection will also be in person.
Area of law: Prosecutions
Rate: Up to £60-65 per hour (Umbrella)
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX with Litigation and Advocacy rights
- Experience in handling Prosecutions matters
- Can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
Duties and responsibilities for this post may include:
- Prosecution of cases under the Trademarks Act 1994 and Tobacco Regulations
- Providing legal advice across a range of regulatory and enforcement matters, including Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing, Planning and Waste Enforcement
- Attending Court on behalf of the Local Authority when necessary
- Reviewing work to ensure a high standard and compliance with legal requirements
