Locum Adult Social Care Paralegal – South West Local Authority – 3 months + – £20-£25 Umbrella
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adult Social Care Paralegal to join a South West Local Authority on an interim basis.
This is a full-time position, offered for an initial term of 3 months, and is to start within the next 4 weeks. The role is predominantly office-based, with attendance required at weekly meetings which are held on-site at Council offices in the South West.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Provide legal, clerical and administrative support to the Social Care team of Solicitors and Fee Earners
- Undertake a variety of Adult protection related activities under the designation of the Solicitors
- Case management, concerning court of protection and deprivation of liberty matters
- Day to day liaisons with Social Care teams, courts, external partners, private practitioners and other bodies
- Legal research using primary and secondary sources and presented findings and conclusions
- Collating evidence, preparing court applications and continuing the document management of court cases
- Administrative tasks such as preparing bundles, updating and delivering them to court and parties
- Attended remote hearings with Counsel as and when required
Prior adult social care experience is essential for this role. Candidates with experience of working in a local authority setting are welcomed, however the client will also consider candidates transitioning from a private sector background.
An hourly umbrella rate of between £20-£25 umbrella D.O.E is offered for this position.
