An opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Assistant to join a large public sector organisation. This role provides essential administrative and clerical support to frontline services, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service and acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide efficient clerical, typing and database support across Children and Family Services
- Accurately input and maintain data on internal systems and databases
- Produce reports, correspondence and documentation to agreed priorities and deadlines
- Manage diaries, arrange meetings, book rooms and maintain filing systems
- Handle incoming calls, emails and correspondence, acting as a professional first point of contact
- Liaise with internal teams, partner agencies, schools, police and voluntary organisations
- Support the organisation of meetings, training sessions and service events, including minute-taking
- Process orders, manage stationery supplies and coordinate IT/telephony support requests
- Maintain records, inventories and statistical returns
- Support financial administration including petty cash and invoice processing (under supervision)
- Provide cover on a duty rota, supporting shared inboxes and general admin tasks
- Handle confidential information in line with data protection requirements
- Undertake additional administrative duties as required to support service delivery
- Recent experience in an administrative or clerical role within an office environment
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- The role may occasionally require flexibility around working hours
- Some duties may require appropriate background checks
