Based in London, hybrid. Inside IR35. We’re working with a London Local Authority who are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Senior Commercial Surveyor to play a leading role in shaping and delivering the Council’s property strategy.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Manage the Councils property portfolio to maximise value, reduce costs, improve long‑term performance, and generate financial, social, and economic benefits.
- Identify and deliver value‑add opportunities and asset management initiatives.
- Lead on commercial arrangements, including leases and acquisitions.
- Drive regeneration opportunities through development enabling work and ensure asset disposals reflect Council priorities and best value principles.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for a portfolio valued at approximately £2.77bn.
Experience and knowledge required:
- Significant experience in property portfolio management within a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
- Strong commercial insight and understanding of property markets, development, and asset management.
- Currently working as a property professional in the public or private sector within property, infrastructure, or housing.
- Experience navigating public policy, preparing land development activities, and producing acquisition/disposal strategies.
- Expert knowledge of legislative, policy, and contextual frameworks affecting the service.
