Venn Group has been approached by a leading Housing Association in Rochdale to recruit for a Head of Property Compliance on a permanent basis.
As the successful candidate, you will lead the Property Compliance Service, ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements for property safety are met across the housing stock. You will oversee core property compliance programmes, including gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, water, and lift safety, as well as manage the Building Safety function for high-rise residential buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the delivery of the organisation’s property compliance programmes, ensuring timely and high-standard execution.
- Ensure robust policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks are in place for all compliance areas.
- Provide assurance to senior leadership and external regulators on the safety and compliance of the property portfolio.
- Drive performance improvements while maintaining high standards of customer care, value for money, and legal compliance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop best practices and meet emerging regulatory requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience leading services through organisational change and improving team performance.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners.
- Self-motivated with excellent workload management and the ability to inspire and support team development.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality, customer-focused services.
- Full UK Driving Licence with access to own vehicle.
Technical Competencies:
- Relevant professional qualifications in property compliance or extensive equivalent experience (e.g., NEBOSH, Building Safety qualifications).
- In-depth knowledge of property safety management and the Health and Safety at Work Act, with expertise in at least three compliance areas.
- Demonstrable experience in managing property compliance services for residential buildings, including strategic leadership and operational management.
- Expertise in risk management, regulatory compliance, and delivering assurance-focused services.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively.
