Information Rights Case Officer – 6-Month Contract

💻 Fully Remote | £192 per day (Umbrella)

A leading public-sector organisation is seeking an experienced Information Rights Case Officer for a 6-month interim assignment.

Potential candidates must be based in the UK, have not been abroad for more than 6 months in the past 3 years and have the relevant permissions to work in the UK. In addition to holding a current DBS certificate – or willingness to obtain one before appointment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and Data Protection/GDPR requests.
  • Draft accurate, legally compliant responses and advise on exemptions and compliance.
  • Liaise across multiple teams in a large, complex matrix organisation to gather and interpret information.
  • Maintain precise records, produce reports, and drive continuous improvement of information-rights processes.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of FOI and Data Protection legislation and full lifecycle request handling.
  • Proven experience drafting statutory responses in government or health-related settings.
  • Excellent written communication, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comfortable operating within a large, complex matrix organisation.
  • Ideally possesses a legal background or legal qualification.
