Interim Finance Lead. Based in London, hybrid working & Inside IR35. Length: 3 months. We’re seeking an interim Finance Lead to play a pivotal role in the delivery and migration to OneAdvanced Financials, replacing Agresso and ASH Debtors. This is a highly visible role at the centre of a major transformation programme for a London Borough.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the full‑time IT Project Manager to jointly lead the system implementation
- Provide strong, visible day‑to‑day leadership to the project team
- Manage and coordinate a team of service specialists to ensure cohesive delivery
- Identify and close any gaps between individual functional workstreams
- Represent the project as its outward‑facing business lead, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders
- Provide expert guidance on Local Authority accounting standards, best practice, and financial controls
- Ensure financial reporting, management accounting and financial operations requirements are fully reflected in the system design
- Oversee testing, validation and acceptance of finance‑related configurations and processes
- Lead aspects of the migration from Agresso/ASH Debtors to OneAdvanced Financials
- Support data migration planning, quality checks and reconciliation
Skills, Experience and Knowledge
- Proven experience delivering finance system implementations within Local Authorities or significant Local Authority accounting experience combined with system implementation experience in other sectors
- Strong understanding of Local Authority financial management, governance and accounting requirements
- Leadership experience in a project environment, confidently directing multi‑disciplinary teams
