Role: Finance Business Partner - Adult Social Care (ASC)
Contract: Till March initially
Location: West London - 2 days on site per week
Role Purpose
The Finance Business Partner for Adult Social Care (ASC) will work alongside the Service Directorate Management Team to provide strategic financial leadership, support, and guidance. The role will support the Head of Finance in delivering high-quality financial management across the Adult Social Care Directorate, including capital and transformation programmes. The post holder will play a key role in enabling the Directorate to meet its financial objectives by offering insightful financial analysis, robust challenge, and proactive support to budget managers and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Adult Social Care Directorate to provide financial direction and professional support, ensuring the delivery of effective financial management across all services.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, meaningful insights for non-financial stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Provide strategic financial advice and challenge to senior management to ensure budgets are managed effectively and resources are used efficiently.
- Support the development of medium and long-term financial plans, ensuring alignment with the Council’s overall financial strategy and medium-term financial forecasts.
- Contribute to capital programme planning and transformation initiatives by providing financial analysis, modelling, and guidance.
- Collaborate with Service Directors, Heads of Service, and budget managers to ensure sound financial control and value-for-money outcomes across the Directorate.
- Identify and manage financial risks, developing solutions and mitigations as appropriate.
- Support the preparation of business cases, funding bids, and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified or part-qualified CCAB accountant (e.g. CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in an adult social care finance business partnering role within a local authority.
- Strong understanding of financial management, planning, and reporting within a public sector environment.
