Overview
Youth Family Support Worker
An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to be part of a children and young people’s substance use services in Oxfordshire. You will provide support to children & young people who are affected by adults’ substance use as well as parents of children who are using substances.
Location: Hybrid working, travelling around West Oxfordshire
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm – with flexibility
Length: 3 months, with the possibility of extension and permanent work
Responsibilities
- Provide a range of tailored interventions with young people depending upon their presenting drug of choice, complexity and need
- Responsible for holding and managing a combined caseload of both complex young people and their families
- Provide specialist assessments, care planning, and deliver evidence based psychosocial brief and structured interventions through one-to-one appointments, groups, and online
- Contribute to reducing the negative impacts of drugs and alcohol on children and young people’s educational achievement, longer term employment prospects and their overall health and wellbeing
- Work effectively with a range of partner agencies to deliver a quality service, focussed on achieving positive change
Essential Requirements
- Experience of direct and focused client work with vulnerable young people
- Experience of completing and reviewing care plans and risk assessments
- A full UK Driving Licence with access to a car
