Job Description
Venn Group is working with a Local Authority in London to recruit an ERP Finance System Implementation Lead.SAP experience is highly desirable.
This role is role to support the successful implementation of a new ERP system by acting as the key liaison between the finance team and the project implementation team.
The role will ensure that financial processes are accurately documented, tested, and transitioned into the new system with minimal disruption to business operations within the timescales required.
- IR35 Status: Inside
- Rate: £700 umbrella per day
- Length: 3 months initial, expected to last 12 months
- Location: London
- Working pattern: 2/3 days a week onsite
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with finance and digital teams to ensure financial processes and requirements are documented accurately
- Assist in the configuration, testing, and validation of ERP financial modules (e.g., GL)
- Plan the implementation requirements and work with the finance team to ensure that work is allocated and completed on time
- Provide expert advice and guidance on the finance system implementation to maximise the benefits of the new system within the system implementation timescales
- Lead data migration activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Work with the ERP implementation partner to develop and execute test scripts for financial processes and support user acceptance testing
- Provide training and support to finance users on the new ERP system
- Identify and resolve issues during implementation and post-go-live phases
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls throughout
- Support the development of financial reports and dashboards within the ERP system
- Contribute to change management and communication plans to ensure smooth adoption
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in ERP implementation projects (SAP desirable)
- Strong background in Local Government financial accounting and reporting
- Experience in data migration and system testing
- Familiarity with change management and training delivery
