Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Highways Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Highways Lawyer to join a reputable and friendly Local Authority.
The Role
- Position: Locum Highways Lawyer
- Working Pattern: Part Time – 2 days per week, or 15 hours, remote working
- Duration: Initial 3+ months with likely extensions
- Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and advising on routine and complex Highways Agreements, including Section 278 and Section 38 agreements
- Providing legal advice on a variety of highways-related matters and queries
- Supporting internal departments and external stakeholders on highways issues
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and authority procedures
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent local government or public sector experience
- Strong working knowledge of highways law, including S278 and S38 agreements
- Excellent drafting, advisory, and communication skills
