Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Commercial Lawyer to join a busy and exciting legal team.
The Role
- Duration: Initial 3+ months with likely extensions
- Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella
- Working Pattern: Full Time, Hybrid working (occasional office presence is desirable)
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on procurement strategies and managing legal and commercial risk
- Drafting and advising on a range of agreements, including Joint Venture arrangements
- Supporting the commercial aspects of regeneration projects
- Providing legal support across major programmes and projects, including construction-related matters
- Reviewing and advising on officer reports in line with the Council’s governance and decision-making procedures
- Supporting legal and operational priorities across the organisation
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with strong experience in commercial contracts and procurement law
- Previous local government or public sector experience highly desirable
- Proven experience supporting regeneration, construction, or major infrastructure projects
- Excellent drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills
