EHCP Officer Rate: Β£300 per day Umbrella (Inside IR35) Duration: 3-6 months initially Location: West Midlands (some onsite working preferred, flexibility available) We are working with a Local Authority in the West Midlands seeking experienced EHCP Officers to support their SEND team on an interim basis. The authority is open to candidates with experience across the full EHCP process, although they may also consider appointing specialists to focus on either new assessments or annual reviews, depending on experience. While some onsite presence is preferred, there may be flexibility for predominantly remote working for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities - Manage a caseload of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are completed and reviewed within statutory timescales. - Coordinate Education, Health and Care needs assessments, working closely with schools, parents/carers, health professionals, and social care services - Prepare, draft, amend and quality assure EHCPs, ensuring plans are accurate, outcome-focused, legally compliant and reflect the needs of the child or young person - Act as a key point of contact for families and professionals, providing clear advice and guidance throughout the EHCP process - Lead and coordinate annual reviews, ensuring recommendations and amendments are progressed appropriately - Support SEND Tribunal processes where required, including preparing documentation and responding to case request - Maintain accurate records and update case management systems to monitor progress, performance and statutory compliance - Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to secure appropriate educational provision and positive outcomes for children and young people Requirements - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service - Previous experience working within a Local Authority SEND Service as an EHCP Officer, SEND Case Officer, SEND Officer or similar - Strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice and statutory EHCP processes - Experience managing assessments, annual reviews or the full EHCP lifecycle - Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet statutory deadlines - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills If you have the above experience and are looking for your next contract opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
