Temporary Vacancy – Operational Support Officer

Location: Ipswich, IP1 (weekdays onsite, weekends from home)

Hourly rate: £12.56 + £1.52 holiday pay PAYE

Contract length: until 31st March 2026.

Hours: 8am – 6pm, 7 days a week on a rotating shift pattern

As an Operational Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the System Coordination Centre, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across urgent and emergency care services. You’ll be the first point of contact for operational queries, manage data collection for system visibility, and provide administrative support to critical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Operations Hub by following and updating standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate Patient Initiated Choice (PIC) processes, liaising with patients and providers.
• Maintain accurate records, meeting logs, and briefing documents.
• Schedule and support meetings for UEC Operations and EPRR teams.
• Monitor system dashboards, surge pressures, and escalate issues as needed.
• Handle sensitive information in line with data protection policies.
• Work autonomously out of hours as part of the rota.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the health and care system.
