School Site Staff (multiple roles)
Location: Croydon
Contract: 3 months, temporary to permanent
Pay: £19.33 up to £25.78 through an umbrella company (based on experience)
Shifts: 06:00 – 14:00, 09:00 – 17:00, 10:00 – 18:00.
Start Date: ASAP
The Role
You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day safety, maintenance, and security of the school site and ensure the premises, grounds, and associated services operate effectively and to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the site’s planned preventative maintenance schedule.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for compliance, utilities, inspections, and maintenance.
- Carry out day‑to‑day site operations, including opening/closing, security, building checks, and alarm response.
- Conduct regular H&S inspections, risk assessments, fire safety testing, and evacuation drill support.
- Liaise with contractors, ensuring safe working practices, permits, compliance and quality delivery.
- Carry out minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and basic redecoration where required.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, driveways, and external equipment.
- Ensure all statutory testing (PAT, legionella checks, equipment inspections) is completed and recorded.
- Support minibus maintenance and, if qualified, provide occasional driving duties (not essential).
Essential Skills & Experience
- Enhanced DBS
- Experience in building maintenance, PPM scheduling, and reactive repairs.
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation, including COSHH and risk assessments.
- Strong communication and record‑keeping skills.
