Job Description

Acquisitions Manager (Project Manager Level)

Location: London (Hybrid – 1 day/week in office)

Contract Type: Interim

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Rate: £500–£600/day umbrella (subject to candidate experience)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Acquisitions Manager at Project Manager level to support a growing housing programme focused on securing properties for families in temporary accommodation. This is a key role within a London Borough Council, contributing directly to improving housing outcomes for vulnerable residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the acquisition of residential properties, including block purchases, to meet programme targets.
  • Manage relationships with developers, agents, and internal stakeholders to secure suitable housing stock.
  • Oversee the end-to-end acquisition process, ensuring compliance with council policies and legal frameworks.
  • Collaborate with housing and regeneration teams to align acquisitions with strategic priorities.
  • Travel as required to assess properties and meet stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property acquisition, ideally within the public sector or housing associations.
  • Strong understanding of block purchasing and property market dynamics.
  • Excellent project management and negotiation skills.
