Locum Planning and Highways Lawyer – South East Local Authority – Negotiable rate – Fully remote – Full time £50-55 per hour umbrella 6 month initial period with possibility for extension 35 hours per week, fully remote, no committees.
Are you a passionate and experienced Planning and Highways Lawyer? Venn Group is working with a fantastic local authority in the South East of England in their search for a Planning and Highways Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 6-month period, with the potential for extension depending on performance, project needs and permanent recruitment.
Requirements:
- Qualified Lawyer, with a valid practising certificate in the UK
- Specialism within Planning Law, with experience of practising post-qualification
- Experience working within local authorities, or for a public sector organisation
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Showing a competence towards IT and technology due to the remote nature of this position
- Showing a comprehensive understanding and experience of managing planning and highways cases, including planning agreements, drafting and negotiating highways, rights of ways etc
- Strong and up to date knowledge of legislation relevant to the role
- Advising on all areas of Planning Law, including rural and suburban planning
- Mentoring and training less experienced team members
- Deputising for heads of legal and other principal lawyers when necessary
