Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer – London Borough – Competitive rate – Hybrid – Full time
Up to £55 per hour umbrella

3 month period initially, likely to be extended
Full time, 1 day office attendance per fortnight, with occasional court attendance
Are you an established Housing Litigation Lawyer looking to make a real difference? Venn Group is working with an exceptional local authority in a London Borough in their pursuit of a Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer on a locum basis for an initial 3-month period.
Requirements:
- A valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor, Barrister or a Fellow of CILEX
- Specialism within Housing Law and related legislation
- Evidence of practising Housing Law post-qualification
- Experience working within local authorities or for a relevant public sector organisation
- An adaptable approach to work, being able to react to a constantly changing environment
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Advising the clients of the organisation on all aspects of Housing Law and providing representation when necessary
- Undertaking research as requested in relation to Housing Law and Civil Litigation
- Advising on issues such as possession matters, s204 appeals and judicial review
- Attending court as appropriate
- Advising officers and members in a practical and sensitive manner
- Mentoring and training less experienced team members
- Working resourcefully under tight deadlines
