The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join the firm's Northwood office on an initial six-month fixed-term contract.

This role will provide vital support to fee earners across multiple practice areas, with a particular focus on assisting the Residential Conveyancing team while also supporting Corporate, Commercial and other legal departments as required.

This position would suit a proactive and organised Paralegal who enjoys variety in their work and is keen to develop experience across a broad range of legal disciplines within a busy private practice environment.

Key Responsibilities Residential Conveyancing Support

  • Conduct Land Registry searches and obtain title documents.
  • Assist with post-completion matters, including registration applications and SDLT-related administration.
  • Prepare and submit Land Registry applications.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties regarding conveyancing matters.
  • Assist fee earners with the progression of residential property transactions.
  • Maintain accurate case management records and ensure files are up to date.
  • General Paralegal Support
  • Provide administrative and legal support to fee earners across various departments, including Corporate and Commercial.
  • Draft correspondence, legal documents and basic transactional documents under supervision.
  • Undertake legal research and prepare file notes.
  • Prepare client engagement documentation and assist with matter opening procedures.
  • Manage document production, filing and document management systems.
  • Monitor key dates, deadlines and action points across matters.
  • Assist with due diligence exercises and document reviews.
  • Handle general client enquiries and facilitate effective communication between clients and fee earners.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Legal Administrator within a law firm.
  • Prior exposure to residential conveyancing work, particularly post-completion and Land Registry processes, is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and administrative accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
  • A professional, collaborative and proactive approach.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting multiple legal disciplines within private practice.
  • Law degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Previous exposure to corporate/commercial matters.
