Project Manager (Capital Projects) - NHS
Location: Surrey
Rate: Β£28.92 per hour
Contract: until April 2027
An NHS organisation in Surrey is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a varied capital programme across a large healthcare estate. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction or estates project professional with experience managing capital projects from inception through to completion. The Role
You will be responsible for leading and delivering major and minor capital schemes across a complex operational estate, managing projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction and handover stages. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing capital projects from feasibility through to completion
- Developing project briefs and working with end users to agree requirements
- Managing external consultants, contractors and design teams
- Preparing specifications and tender documentation where required
- Monitoring project budgets, programmes and risks
- Ensuring quality, compliance and health & safety standards are maintained
- Providing regular progress updates to senior stakeholders
- Supporting the wider delivery of the capital programme across the estate
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- A qualification in Architecture, Surveying, Engineering or a construction-related discipline
- Experience within NHS or healthcare estates
- Significant experience managing complex capital or construction projects
- Experience preparing specifications and tender documentation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent project management and budget management capabilities
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy environment
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong organisational skills
Desirable
- Knowledge of ProCure21+/ProCure22 frameworks
