A Local Authority is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Casework Officer to join their SEND team on a fully remote basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering statutory SEND services, managing Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs), Annual Reviews, and a varied caseload of complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of EHCP assessments and annual reviews
  • Draft, amend, and maintain Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Coordinate multi-agency meetings and consultations
  • Liaise with families, schools, and partner agencies
  • Present cases at SEND panels
  • Secure appropriate educational provision and placements
  • Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to key deadlines
  • Support mediation and SEND Tribunal processes where required

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a SEN/EHCP Casework Officer within a UK Local Authority.
  • Professional SEND or education-related qualification
  • Experience supporting or representing a Local Authority at mediation, SEND Tribunals, or complaint investigations
  • Experience working directly with children and young people with SEND
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
