We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our clients Estates Maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional to play a vital role in maintaining critical healthcare infrastructure and ensuring essential services remain operational 24/7 across one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding, installation, testing and improvement works on a wide range of electrical systems.

Working with minimal supervision, you will help maintain a safe and compliant healthcare environment while supporting patient care across acute hospital facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, inspection and repair of electrical distribution systems.
  • Fault finding and diagnosis on low-voltage electrical networks.
  • Working on generators, UPS systems, IPS systems and emergency power supplies.
  • Maintenance of lighting, power systems, distribution boards and essential services infrastructure.
  • Servicing and repair of fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, intruder alarms and related building services.
  • Responding to electrical breakdowns, critical alarms and emergency situations.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with statutory and Trust requirements.
  • Assisting with installation, refurbishment and minor capital projects.
  • Ensuring all works comply with Health & Safety legislation, electrical regulations and Trust procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using CAFM systems and associated software.

Applicants must demonstrate

  • A completed apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or equivalent vocational training.
  • Relevant City & Guilds electrical qualification or equivalent.
  • Significant post-apprenticeship electrical maintenance experience.
  • Proven experience working on electrical building services systems.
