Our client is seeking a People Partner to provide business-focused HR advice and support on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with policies, employment law and best practice, while leading cultural and values development across the organisation and using workforce data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement, efficiency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice on employee relations, policies, employment law and best practice.
- Build strong relationships with managers and Trade Unions to support effective people management.
- Deliver learning and development initiatives to enhance workforce capability.
- Line manage and mentor the People Assistant, supporting performance and development.
- Lead or support Job Evaluation panels and organisational change projects, including TUPE and restructures.
- Contribute to the delivery of the People Strategy, covering workforce planning, culture, inclusion, wellbeing and performance.
- Support transformation, continuous improvement and innovation across the organisation.
- Use workforce data and insights to drive service improvements and informed decision-making.
- Develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and represent the People function as required.
- Promote the organisation as an employer of choice and identify opportunities to improve services and people practices.
Essential Candidate Critera
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent)
- Local authority experience
- Experience providing HR advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance management
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
- Experience working with and influencing managers and Trade Unions
- Experience supporting organisational change, restructures and/or TUPE projects
- Ability to analyse workforce data and use insights to inform decision-making
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
