Venn Group's specialist Procurement & Public Sector recruitment team is recruiting for a Senior Procurement Officer on behalf of a Local Authority in the North East. This permanent opportunity offers the chance to play a key role in delivering strategic procurement activity while helping shape procurement practices under the evolving Procurement Act 2023 framework.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting a range of procurement projects across council services
- Providing specialist advice on public sector procurement legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023, Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and Provider Selection Regime
- Supporting the delivery and measurement of Social Value outcomes through procurement activity
- Working closely with stakeholders to develop compliant, efficient and value-driven procurement solutions
- Contributing to the ongoing development of procurement best practice across the organisation
About you
- Significant experience working within public sector procurement
- Strong knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 and wider public procurement legislation
- Experience managing end-to-end procurement exercises and providing procurement advice
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Suitable for experienced Senior Procurement Officers or ambitious Procurement Officers looking to step into a senior role
