An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Quality professional to join a leading housing provider, supporting the delivery of major remediation, cladding and fire safety projects across a residential portfolio. This role will focus on quality assurance, defect management, inspections, contractor performance and compliance, ensuring work is delivered to the highest standards whilst maintaining a strong focus on resident satisfaction and building safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out regular site inspections across remediation, cladding, and fire safety projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical information, identifying defects, risks, and areas of non-compliance.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring works are delivered to the required quality standards.
- Produce detailed inspection reports, photographic records, and project updates for key stakeholders.
- Identify, record and report construction defects, snagging items and non-compliant works.
- Manage pre-handover inspections, snagging programmes and quality control processes.
- Support the resolution of latent defects by providing technical advice and recommendations.
- Monitor outstanding Fire Risk Assessment actions and support fire safety compliance activities.
- Attend project, design, site and resident meetings, providing technical input and quality assurance guidance.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, project managers, and residents to resolve issues and improve project outcomes.
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, health and safety requirements, specifications and contractual obligations.
- Support the wider Special Projects team with reporting, administration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:
- Experience as a Construction Quality Manager, Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, Defects Surveyor, or similar quality/compliance-focused position.
- Experience inspecting construction, remediation, cladding, or fire safety projects from inception through to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, quality standards, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
- Experience undertaking site inspections, snagging reviews and quality audits.
- Knowledge of fire safety, building defects and remedial construction works.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Strong report writing, record keeping, and communication skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation within a construction environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and site visits.
- Qualification in Building, Construction, or a related discipline.
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, ICWCI, IOSH or a similar professional body would be advantageous.
