Venn Group’s specialist Local Government recruitment team is recruiting a Mayors Office Manager for a London Borough. This interim opportunity offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Mayor to deliver this vision, ensuring that priorities are effectively coordinated, managed and delivered across the organisation.

The role Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the key coordinator between the Mayor, senior officers and services across the Council, helping to ensure that priorities are translated into action and commitments are delivered.
  • Lead the Mayor's Office and provide high-quality strategic and operational support to the Executive Mayor and Cabinet.
  • Be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Mayor's Office, including executive support, diary management, casework, community engagement and Cabinet support functions.
  • You will work closely with the Mayor's Policy Adviser, Cabinet Members, Corporate Management Team and partners across the borough to ensure that political priorities, policy development and organisational delivery remain aligned.

About you:

  • Experience of managing or working within a political office or providing support to senior elected members or executive leaders.
  • The ability to assess competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and ensure focus on the most important issues.
  • Strong political awareness and an understanding of the local government environment.
  • Experience of managing teams and driving high performance.
  • The ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of partners.
  • A proactive and resilient approach, with the ability to anticipate issues, remove barriers and ensure actions are delivered.
  • Experience of working in a complex, high-profile and fast-paced environment.

Key details:

  • Salary: £450-£500 p/d umbrella.
  • Location: London / Hybrid – 2/3 dpw onsite.
  • Start: ASAP.
