Venn Group’s specialist Estates & Facilities recruitment team are recruiting for a Head of Residential Building Safety & Compliance on behalf of a large and prestigious Education provider based in West London. This permanent opportunity offers the chance to lead building safety, statutory compliance, facilities management, and maintenance across a diverse residential property portfolio while playing a key role in shaping organisational compliance strategy.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership for Building Safety Act compliance and Higher-Risk Building requirements across a portfolio of residential properties.
- Leading building safety, statutory compliance, facilities management, and maintenance functions to ensure buildings remain safe, compliant, and operationally effective.
- Developing and maintaining robust compliance assurance frameworks, risk registers, governance processes, and performance reporting mechanisms.
- Managing significant building safety, compliance, maintenance, and operational risks, ensuring timely escalation and resolution where required.
- Providing expert advice to senior leadership on building safety, asset condition, compliance, maintenance, and investment priorities.
- Leading and developing facilities management teams while overseeing contractor performance, maintenance delivery, and asset lifecycle planning.
About You
- Significant senior-level experience within building safety, statutory compliance, facilities management, building maintenance, or property management.
- Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Higher-Risk Building regulatory framework.
- Proven experience managing safety, compliance, and risk across complex multi-building estates.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing professional facilities, property, engineering, or compliance teams.
- Relevant degree, professional qualification, or equivalent experience in building safety, engineering, facilities management, property, or a related discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management, governance, reporting, and budget management experience.
