Estates Supervisor

Location: Kingston

Contract: 3 months, ongoing (potentially permanent)

Pay: £22 per hour through an umbrella company

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Start Date: ASAP

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management, safety, maintenance, and security of the school site. Working closely with the Facilities Business Partner, Principal, and wider Estates & Facilities team, you will ensure the premises, grounds, and associated services operate effectively and to the highest possible standard.

You will lead on planned and preventative maintenance, statutory compliance, contractor liaison, health & safety, emergency response, and operational site duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver the site’s planned preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for compliance, utilities, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations, including opening/closing, security, building checks, and alarm response.
  • Conduct regular H&S inspections, risk assessments, fire safety testing, and evacuation drill support.
  • Liaise with contractors, ensuring safe working practices, permits, compliance and quality delivery.
  • Carry out minor repairs, maintenance tasks, and basic redecoration where required.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including playgrounds, driveways, and external equipment.
  • Ensure all statutory testing (PAT, legionella checks, equipment inspections) is completed and recorded.
  • Support minibus maintenance and, if qualified, provide occasional driving duties.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Enhanced DBS with Child and Adult Barring
  • Experience in building maintenance, PPM scheduling, and reactive repairs.
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation, including COSHH and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Clean, valid driving licence.
