Estates Surveyor – Non-Housing Property Portfolio

Based in London, hybrid working (3 days on site)

Length: 3 months initially, likely 6

We are currently seeking an experienced Estates Surveyor to join a Council’s property team, providing professional estates management, valuation and property advice across a diverse non-housing property portfolio.

You will provide professional property and estates advice to the Council, with responsibility for the management, acquisition and disposal of a varied portfolio of non-residential property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of Council-owned and/or occupied non-housing property
  • Undertaking and/or commissioning property valuations and providing valuation advice
  • Managing acquisitions and disposals, including negotiations, due diligence and progressing transactions through to completion
  • Advising on leases, rent reviews, lease renewals, landlord and tenant matters and other property management issues
  • Providing advice on the strategic use and development potential of Council assets
  • Preparing reports and recommendations for senior officers and elected members where required
  • Maintaining accurate property records and ensuring the portfolio is managed in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and professional standards

Key Requirements:

  • MRICS qualified
  • Strong experience in estate management and general practice surveying
  • Proven experience of property acquisitions and disposals
  • Experience dealing with landlord and tenant matters, leases, rent reviews and negotiations
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to provide clear, practical property advice
