Venn Group is working with a leading university in South West London to recruit a Credit Controller on an initial 2-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. Starting as soon as possible, this role will focus on tuition fee collection, service desk query management, and providing excellent customer service to students via phone, email and face-to-face interactions. This is a full-time position requiring attendance on-site five days per week.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Manage and monitor student tuition fee debt, proactively chasing outstanding balances through telephone calls, emails and written correspondence
- Handle finance-related service desk tickets, ensuring queries are resolved accurately and within agreed service levels
- Liaise directly with students by phone and face-to-face to discuss outstanding fees, payment plans and account queries
- Maintain and reconcile student debtor accounts, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date
- Escalate complex debt cases where appropriate and support debt recovery activities in line with University policies
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve billing, enrolment and payment-related issues
- Produce aged debt reports and support the management of a large and complex debtor portfolio
- Assist with ad hoc finance administration and contribute to the effective running of the Credit Control function
Ideal candidate profile:
- Proven Credit Control experience within a university
- Experience managing high-volume debt collection activities and customer queries
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders by telephone, email and face-to-face
- Experience using Agresso/Unit4 is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good Excel and general finance systems experience
Location: South West London
Duration: Initial 2-month contract, subject to further extension
Rate: £18-£19 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
Working hours: Full-time
Working pattern: 5 days per week on-site
