Interim Senior Property Legal Officer – Part Time – Initial 3 Months – Hybrid Working – Competitive Rate
Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Senior Property Legal Officer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property professional to undertake a varied Property and Regeneration caseload while providing high-quality legal advice across a range of public sector property matters.
Role Details:
Position: Locum Senior Property Legal Officer
Working Arrangement: Part Time, 20 hours per week, with office attendance approximately once per week. Some flexibility may be considered
Duration: Initial 3 months, with potential for extension
Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
Duties may include:
- Managing a varied caseload of Property and Regeneration matters
- Providing high-quality legal advice across a broad range of property transactions
- Advising senior officers and other stakeholders on property-related matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating property documentation
- Supporting regeneration and wider Local Authority property projects
- Attending meetings and providing legal advice where required
- Managing transactions efficiently from instruction through to completion
- Providing guidance and supervision to junior fee earners where appropriate
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider legal service
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in Property and Regeneration law and practice
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong experience in Property and Regeneration law
- Previous experience providing legal advice across a broad range of property matters
- Previous Local Government or wider Public Sector experience is highly desirable
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
- Experience working with senior officers and stakeholders
- Previous experience supervising or supporting junior legal staff would be advantageous
- Strong IT and legal case management skills
